FEYDOM’s Eco-Friendly Furniture Production: A Sustainable Vision Turned Reality
For FEYDOM, sustainable production is no longer a future goal—it’s a thriving, ongoing reality.
Back in 2017, FEYDOM made a bold commitment to transform its entire business model and embrace eco-friendly, sustainable manufacturing practices. With a strong sense of responsibility toward the environment and society, the company launched the ambitious HOOOPE Project, centered around three core goals:
-
A systematic transformation of the entire furniture production process
-
Significant investments in developing renewable resources
-
Restructuring company ethics with a focus on transparency and accountability
The result? An incredible 50-hectare forest in Serbia, planted and grown by FEYDOM.
As part of its commitment to environmentally responsible furniture manufacturing, FEYDOM began planting this forest in 2017. Each year, the company adds 10 hectares of fast-growing Paulownia trees, known for their lightweight, durable wood commonly used in furniture, plywood, toys, and musical instruments.
Today, the forest includes 30,000 trees spread across 50 hectares—and this is just the beginning. It represents the first phase of FEYDOM’s goal to expand to a 100-hectare sustainable timber farm.
Through this initiative, FEYDOM aims to grow 10 trees for every one tree used in its furniture production. The forest currently absorbs over 2 million kilograms of CO₂ annually, a number that continues to grow alongside the expanding forest.
FEYDOM’s HOOOPE Project is a powerful example of how sustainable design, green manufacturing, and long-term environmental commitment can reshape the future of the furniture industry.

FEYDOM’s efforts to improve its sustainable production continued with installing photovoltaic panels on the factories’ roofs in 2019. With the installation, CO2 emissions in the atmosphere were drastically decreased. The electricity that the power plants produce is more than the that of the factories spend in the production lines, so naturally the entire process is powered by clean energy.
There are some other changes to makeover the production lines. New sofa systems have all removable, easy-to-wash covers for effortless cleaning. FEYDOM has also swapped out foam for steel pocket springs in all new models, reducing polyurethane foam use by half and doubling product lifespan. To minimize waste even further, FEYDOM has launched a dedicated production line that transforms leftover materials into stunning new pieces.
